Born in Boulder, Colorado, Marianne is a classical realist specializing in portraits and landscapes.  Marianne's portrait paintings are carefully developed in the classical style to achieve an unusual degree of luminosity that gives her artwork the glow of life.  Her classical training included being invited to paint in the Louvre Museum in Paris.  Studying from nature was also a part of this training.  From that, grew a love of plein air painting.  Being a native of Colorado and an avid hiker, plein air painting was the perfect way to combine her love of painting and being outdoors.

She has studied with;  Frank Covino, Valentin Okorokov, Molly Davis, Jaques Devaud, Jeff Legg, Dan Young, John David Phillips, Skip Whitcomb, Wm. Scott Jennings and Jay Moore.

Marianne is a member of the Portrait Society of America , Oil Painters of America and Plein Air Artists Colorado.  Her paintings are in numerous private collections throughout the United States and Canada.
